Arenas of Faith ("Arenas of Faith," "AOF," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to responsible communications with students, parents and guardians, volunteers, donors, supporters, ministry partners, business partners, and other individuals who interact with Arenas of Faith.
This page contains the Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS Privacy Policy and SMS/MMS Terms and Conditions governing AOF text messaging programs.
Participation in any Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS program is voluntary.
PART I - SMS/MMS PRIVACY POLICY
1. Scope
This SMS/MMS Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected in connection with Arenas of Faith text messaging programs.
It applies when you enroll through an Arenas of Faith website, registration form, signup form, event, authorized QR code, Mailchimp-hosted form, authorized keyword, or another approved enrollment method.
This policy supplements the general Arenas of Faith Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict concerning mobile telephone numbers, SMS/MMS consent, or SMS/MMS communications, this SMS/MMS Privacy Policy will govern those matters.
2. Information We Collect
When you enroll in or interact with an Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS program, we may collect:
- Your name;
- Mobile telephone number;
- Email address;
- Age or age range when appropriate;
- Parent or guardian information when applicable;
- Program, event, or Impact Group participation information;
- Communication and subscription preferences;
- SMS/MMS opt-in and consent records;
- The date, time, source, and method of consent;
- The consent language presented when you enrolled;
- Categories of communications you selected;
- Messages and responses you send to AOF;
- STOP, HELP, and other messaging requests;
- Message delivery and engagement information;
- Link-interaction information;
- Opt-out history; and
- Other information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and administer our communications.
3. How We Collect Information
Arenas of Faith may collect this information when you voluntarily:
- Complete an AOF website form;
- Register for an AOF event or program;
- Join or participate in an Impact Group;
- Complete an authorized Mailchimp or AOF signup form;
- Scan an authorized QR code;
- Enroll at an AOF gathering or event;
- Use an authorized SMS enrollment method; or
- Otherwise expressly request and consent to receiving AOF SMS/MMS communications.
Providing a mobile telephone number alone does not constitute consent to receive marketing, promotional, or fundraising SMS/MMS messages.
Where consent is required, Arenas of Faith will seek affirmative consent for the applicable category of communications.
Consent to receive email communications is separate from consent to receive SMS/MMS communications.
4. Types of SMS/MMS Communications
Arenas of Faith may offer different categories of SMS/MMS communications.
Ministry, Informational, and Promotional Communications
These communications may include:
- Ministry news and updates;
- Impact Group information;
- Encounter gatherings;
- Events and registration reminders;
- Programs and activities;
- Devotional and biblical content;
- Leadership resources;
- Leadership-development opportunities;
- Volunteer opportunities;
- Mentorship and internship opportunities;
- Marketplace, job-shadowing, and employment opportunities;
- Invitations and announcements; and
- Promotional or marketing communications related to Arenas of Faith.
Fundraising and Giving Communications
These communications may include:
- Fundraising campaigns;
- Charitable solicitations;
- Giving opportunities;
- Donation requests;
- Campaign updates; and
- Other fundraising-related communications.
Where Arenas of Faith provides separate consent choices for these categories, consent to one category does not constitute consent to another category.
Arenas of Faith will use SMS/MMS information in a manner reasonably consistent with the consent and disclosures presented when you enrolled.
5. How We Use SMS/MMS Information
Arenas of Faith may use information associated with its messaging programs to:
- Deliver communications for which you have provided consent;
- Administer events, Impact Groups, and other AOF programs;
- Provide reminders and requested information;
- Communicate opportunities and resources;
- Send promotional communications;
- Send fundraising and donation communications when appropriate consent has been provided;
- Respond to questions and requests;
- Manage subscriber preferences;
- Maintain consent and opt-out records;
- Measure and improve communications;
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use;
- Protect AOF participants and programs;
- Maintain the security and integrity of our systems; and
- Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, carrier, and messaging-platform requirements.
6. Mobile Information and SMS Consent Privacy
Arenas of Faith does not sell, rent, trade, transfer, or share mobile telephone numbers, SMS/MMS opt-in information, or SMS/MMS consent records with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile information and SMS/MMS consent will not be sold to or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
This restriction applies regardless of other provisions in an Arenas of Faith privacy policy that may otherwise permit certain types of information sharing.
Arenas of Faith may provide mobile information to service providers acting on our behalf when reasonably necessary to operate, administer, secure, or deliver our SMS/MMS program.
These providers may include:
- Mailchimp;
- Telecommunications carriers;
- SMS/MMS delivery providers;
- Hosting and technology providers;
- Security and fraud-prevention providers; and
- Other vendors reasonably necessary to operate AOF communications.
These service providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide services to Arenas of Faith, maintain security, comply with applicable requirements, or support messaging operations.
SMS/MMS opt-in information and consent are not provided to these parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Arenas of Faith may also disclose information when required by applicable law, legal process, court order, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of AOF, our participants, or others.
7. Mailchimp and Messaging Service Providers
Arenas of Faith uses Mailchimp to help administer email and SMS/MMS communications.
When you subscribe to AOF communications, information necessary to provide those communications may be processed by Mailchimp and other messaging service providers on behalf of Arenas of Faith.
These providers may process subscriber information as necessary to provide messaging, consent-management, delivery, analytics, security, and related services.
Use of such service providers does not authorize those providers to use AOF SMS/MMS opt-in information or consent for their own independent marketing or promotional purposes.
Mailchimp maintains its own privacy practices governing its processing of information.
8. Students and Minors
Arenas of Faith serves middle-school, high-school, and college-age students and recognizes the importance of protecting younger participants.
If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to enroll in Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS communications.
AOF encourages parents and guardians to remain informed about and involved in communications their minor children receive from Arenas of Faith.
Communications with students may include legitimate ministry and program purposes such as:
- Impact Group information;
- Event announcements;
- Registration reminders;
- Devotional and biblical content;
- Leadership development;
- Volunteer opportunities;
- Program information; and
- Other AOF activities.
Arenas of Faith may require additional parent or guardian consent or authorization when required by applicable law, organizational policy, carrier or platform requirements, or the nature of a particular program.
Arenas of Faith does not intend its SMS/MMS programs to circumvent parental involvement or applicable legal protections for minors.
9. Consent Records
Arenas of Faith may maintain records reasonably necessary to document SMS/MMS consent and demonstrate compliance.
These records may include:
- Mobile telephone number;
- Date and time of consent;
- Source and method of enrollment;
- Consent language presented;
- Categories of communications selected;
- Applicable signup form or enrollment method;
- Communication preferences;
- Opt-out requests and dates;
- Re-enrollment information; and
- Relevant messaging history.
Consent and opt-out records may be retained after a subscriber unsubscribes when reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance, honor the subscriber's preferences, respond to legal or carrier inquiries, or meet applicable recordkeeping requirements.
10. Data Security
Arenas of Faith uses reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, destruction, loss, or misuse.
No electronic transmission, telecommunications network, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Data Retention
Arenas of Faith may retain SMS/MMS information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate our messaging programs;
- Maintain evidence of consent;
- Document communication preferences;
- Maintain suppression and opt-out records;
- Honor STOP requests;
- Meet legal, regulatory, carrier, and messaging-platform requirements;
- Resolve disputes;
- Prevent abuse;
- Protect AOF and its participants; and
- Maintain appropriate organizational records.
After an individual opts out, Arenas of Faith may retain the mobile number and limited associated information on a suppression or opt-out list to ensure that the opt-out request continues to be honored.
12. Your Privacy Choices
You may contact Arenas of Faith to:
- Update your contact information;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Update communication preferences;
- Ask questions regarding personal information associated with our messaging programs; or
- Request deletion of eligible personal information.
Certain information may be retained when reasonably necessary to document consent, honor opt-outs, comply with applicable law or platform requirements, protect participants, prevent abuse, or maintain appropriate organizational records.

13. Opting Out
You may stop receiving Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS communications at any time.
Reply STOP to opt out.
After submitting a valid STOP request, you may receive one final confirmation message acknowledging your request.
Arenas of Faith will honor valid opt-out requests. New valid consent must be provided before AOF intentionally resumes marketing SMS/MMS communications to that number.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Arenas of Faith may update this SMS/MMS Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our ministry, communications practices, technology, legal requirements, carrier requirements, or messaging services.
The current version will be posted on the Arenas of Faith website with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Where required by applicable law, Arenas of Faith will provide additional notice or obtain additional consent before materially changing the purposes for which previously collected information is used.
PART II - SMS/MMS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Agreement to These Terms
These SMS/MMS Terms and Conditions govern participation in Arenas of Faith text messaging programs.
By affirmatively opting in to an AOF SMS/MMS program, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and consent to receive the categories of communications for which you enrolled.
2. Program Description
Arenas of Faith may send recurring automated and non-automated SMS and MMS communications.
Depending upon your consent and participation, messages may include:
- Impact Group information;
- Encounter gathering announcements;
- Event announcements and reminders;
- Registration information;
- Ministry news and updates;
- Devotional and faith-based content;
- Leadership resources;
- Volunteer opportunities;
- Mentorship and internship opportunities;
- Marketplace and employment opportunities;
- Invitations and announcements;
- Promotional and marketing communications;
- Fundraising campaigns;
- Charitable solicitations;
- Donation and giving opportunities; and
- Other Arenas of Faith communications consistent with the consent you provided.
3. Informational, Marketing, and Promotional Communications
If you opt in to receive AOF informational, promotional, or marketing SMS/MMS messages, you expressly consent to receive recurring SMS/MMS communications from Arenas of Faith at the mobile number you provide.
These communications may be sent using automated technology where permitted by applicable law.
Your consent applies only to communications reasonably consistent with the disclosures presented when you enrolled.
4. Fundraising and Donation Communications
Arenas of Faith may provide a separate opportunity to consent to fundraising and giving SMS/MMS communications.
If you opt in to fundraising communications, messages may include:
- Charitable solicitations;
- Fundraising campaigns;
- Donation requests;
- Giving opportunities;
- Campaign announcements and updates;
- Giving reminders; and
- Related fundraising communications.
Where separate consent is presented, opting in to general AOF informational or promotional SMS/MMS communications does not automatically enroll you in fundraising SMS/MMS communications.
5. Consent Is Voluntary
Consent to receive SMS/MMS communications from Arenas of Faith is voluntary.
Consent is not a condition of making a donation, purchasing anything, attending an event, joining an Impact Group, volunteering, participating in an AOF program, or receiving services or ministry opportunities from Arenas of Faith.
6. Eligibility and Authority to Consent
By enrolling in an Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS program, you represent that you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile number provided and are authorized to consent to receiving messages at that number.
If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to enroll.
Arenas of Faith may require additional parent or guardian authorization for particular programs or communications.
7. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies.
The number and frequency of messages may depend upon your communication preferences, participation in AOF programs, upcoming events, Impact Group activities, leadership gatherings, fundraising campaigns, or other ministry initiatives.
Subscribers may receive additional messages surrounding an event, program, campaign, or other time-sensitive AOF activity.
8. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply.
Arenas of Faith does not charge subscribers for enrolling in its SMS/MMS program. Your wireless carrier may impose messaging, data, or other charges according to your wireless service plan.
9. Opt-Out Instructions
Reply STOP to opt out.
You may unsubscribe from Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS communications at any time by replying STOP to an AOF text message.
After a valid STOP request, you may receive one final confirmation message indicating that you have been unsubscribed.
Arenas of Faith will honor valid opt-out requests and will not intentionally continue sending marketing SMS/MMS communications unless you subsequently provide new valid consent.

11. Messaging Hours
Arenas of Faith intends to send marketing and fundraising SMS/MMS communications only during legally permitted hours.
AOF will seek to observe applicable federal, state, carrier, and messaging-platform quiet-hour requirements based on the recipient's local time where reasonably ascertainable.
Event, program, safety, or other communications may be sent when reasonably necessary and legally permitted.
12. Consent Is Specific to Arenas of Faith
Your SMS/MMS consent applies to communications from Arenas of Faith consistent with the enrollment disclosures and categories of communications you selected.
Your consent does not authorize unrelated organizations, businesses, affiliates, ministry partners, sponsors, or other third parties to send marketing messages to you.
Arenas of Faith will not sell or share your SMS/MMS consent with such parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
13. Changing or Reassigning Your Mobile Number
If you change, disconnect, transfer, or relinquish your mobile telephone number, please unsubscribe before relinquishing the number or notify Arenas of Faith at hello@arenasoffaith.org.
This helps prevent communications intended for you from being delivered to a subsequent owner or user of the number.
14. Message Delivery
SMS/MMS availability and delivery depend upon participating wireless carriers, compatible devices, telecommunications networks, messaging platforms, and other service providers.
Message delivery is not guaranteed.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Arenas of Faith is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages resulting from carrier actions, messaging providers, network conditions, device settings, service interruptions, or circumstances outside AOF's reasonable control.
15. Privacy
Participation in the Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS program is governed by the Arenas of Faith SMS/MMS Privacy Policycontained above and, where applicable, the general Arenas of Faith Privacy Policy.
Mobile telephone numbers, SMS/MMS opt-in information, and SMS/MMS consent records will not be sold, rented, transferred, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Service providers acting on behalf of Arenas of Faith may process information only as reasonably necessary to operate, administer, secure, or support AOF's messaging program.
16. Changes to the SMS/MMS Program
Arenas of Faith may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of an SMS/MMS program, subject to applicable law.
AOF may change the types or frequency of communications as its ministry and programs develop, provided those communications remain reasonably consistent with the consent provided or additional consent is obtained when required.

Arenas of Faith may update these Terms and Conditions periodically.
The current version will be posted on the Arenas of Faith website with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Where required by applicable law, Arenas of Faith will provide additional notice or obtain additional consent before materially expanding the nature or scope of SMS/MMS communications covered by existing consent.
18. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by applicable federal law and, to the extent applicable and not preempted by federal law, the laws of the State of Colorado.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to waive any right or obligation that cannot lawfully be waived.
